About me
My name is Stephen Farrington. I am 18 years old and I was raised in a small town in the south-east of Hampshire and now live in Aldwick, West Sussex. I studied History at School and Business at College, both of which I excelled in. However, my love has always been with photography. For me, capturing a moment which is full of emotion and meaning has always been the main goal in my work and I have gone to great lengths to obtain this. This is what led me into motorcycle photography.
When I turned 17, as with most my age at the time, I was looking to start driving. As car insurance rates were unaffordable, even with my laborious part-time job money I had saved for a year, I had to look elsewhere. I looked at insurance on a couple of motorbike's and I was pleased with what prices I found. I completed a CBT (compulsory Basic Training) test three days after my birthday and the same afternoon I passed it, I also picked up my brand new Yamaha YZF R125. I remember the day well, I was full of joy after getting through the test and whilst I could hear nothing on the back of my instructors 1200cc Suzuki Bandit, I could not wait to pick up my own machine. It is moments like these I wish I could physically show to people in the form of photo or video. This is why I became a Photographer, it allows me to capture the gleeful rider going 60mph on a sunny day on his way to his local biker cafe to meet others who thrive on speed and the sheer emotion that is experienced between a rider and their machine. This is what I do. I want to give riders and people alike an image which really tells a story of their day or life or even the emotion they were feeling as I pushed the shutter release.
